This was my first experience attempting to create an entertaining segment for CTV. While I feel i stuck to what I learned as an MMj, I began to get more creative in terms of editing in order to tell a story.
This project highlights my ability to think on my feet when it comes to problem solving. After attempting to get permission to film from the stanley I failed to get a response and was told not to film when I arrived. To still tell the story I decided to take photos that would help tell the story. While it didn't turn out how I imagined I'm proud of what I was able to make under those circumstances.
This project was a personal favorite of mine because I got to geek out on a subject im passionate about. I put around 15 hours of research into the video and wrote an entire script for the segment for the first time. It also challenged me to work with what i had when i had 1 night to film and edit the entire video. This showcases my ability to use limited resources in a creative way and was the first time I started letting my personality out on the show.
Seeing the total solar eclipse was a bucket list item for me and I wanted to film that moment forever. I had no idea how I was going to pull it off without an expensive filter for the camera but I couldn't miss it so I traveled with some friends for a weekend in texas. When the time came I angled the camera toward wheere the sun was and covered it with a jacket to avoid damging the lens. I limited the shots i took before the total eclipse and was able to capture the entire celestial event. Though this work doesnt tell a story. I'm proud of the quality of the video to capture a memeory I will never forget.
